The end result is a high-performance, user-friendly application or web site that has been designed just for you, utilizing cutting edge technology and the latest methodologies. Our experience includes design and development of custom database applications and performance support applications that will run on multiple platforms – either distributed Windows desktop installable applications or web-based intra- and/or internet applications. Our knowledge and efficient use of SQL along with a highly normalized database structure provides integrity and high performance to data storage and retrieval, as well as a sound basis for the overlying application development. The extensive use of XML rounds out data storage, manipulation and transfer opportunities and methods. Desktop applications we develop are written primarily with Microsoft Visual Basic or Access for the front end, and either Access or Microsoft SQL Server as a database back end. With an eye toward migration of the application to a web-based platform, reports are HTML-based, and applications often utilize ActiveX controls that will also run within a web page on certain browsers. Output to office productivity applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and other formats are also provided as needed. Web-based applications primarily run on Microsoft Internet Information Server with SQL Server usually serving as the database, and Active Server Pages utilizing VBScript for server-side code in concert with JavaScript and DHTML on the client side to provide a robust, interactive and easy-to-use application interface. And finally, cross-browser compatibility is always a priority when developing web-based applications All of the code we write in all of the programming languages we use is written natively – no wizards or WSYWIG editors. We write our HTML and script code raw – by hand – in a text editor. 3rd party objects may be utilized when they will provide a cost-effective solution to the requirement at hand. You will rarely find the same code snippets in more than one location in any application we write – our code and database design structure is normalized and modularized to the hilt. This basis along with intelligent use of object naming conventions allows for highly effective coding techniques which in turn provide for efficient, high quality code and superior performing customized applications with intuitive & easy-to-use interfaces. Regardless of the platform, our applications can interact with and manipulate other desktop applications as intimated above.
